SaSiCo at Crazy Hill Cache in Los Gatos…it’s crazier than it looks!
Sang the OranGeo Beesie, “Wheeeeeen the cache hits your eye like a big pizza pie…that’s ammo-re!!!”
We’re not quite sure Dean Martin would approve…but we do!
A geogrin for finding a cache with seven DNFs and not having been found for months…but there it was, right where it was supposed to be!!
Beesie!!! What in the world?!?! You were supposed to be finding a cache a day in May!! There are NO geocaches hidden in your bed! Why…you lazy bum!!
Said the OranGeo Beesie, “You, ma’am, are a most alarming alarm clock…”
And so it is that we have failed the Cache-A-Day-In-May challenge that I set for myself. ::sigh:: I would like to blame this failure on my TaxiMum service, or perhaps my “job” or perhaps the stack of books calling out to the brain cells in my brain, or the curious condition of my cankles…erm ankles. But alas…the fault lies entirely with the lazy Beesie. Quite literally. Mwahahahaha. Seriously, folks. Get a Beesie. You can blame them for just about anything.
Now THIS is a ginormous grin! There was a much loved and well known geocacher named 50Sumtin from my corner of the world who passed away a while back and while I never had the chance to meet with him or cache with him, I’ve heard many good and impressive stories about him. But because he found his last cache in 2008, I never thought I’d see a log with his name on it (considering how often caches have new logs put in them these days). Well, I found a cache tonight that hadn’t been found since 2010…and guess who’s name was on the log?!? It’s not likely I’ll ever have the opportunity to see my name so close to 50Sumtin’s on a cache log, so I just had to take a picture!
And a ginormous grinny thanks to Storyhaven for helping me out on this one! AGAIN!!
All this geocaching has apparently driven the OranGeo Beesie to drink.
Thank goodness he can’t reach the gas pedal, eh?!?
Once you’re a geocacher, you just can’t pass by odd things on the side of the road (for example, giant porcelain lightbulbs) without wondering, “Is it a geocache?”
So, we stopped to have a look…and of course the OranGeo Beesie was full of bright ideas!
Terrible pun. Couldn’t be helped. So sorry!
While out geocaching this evening, I came across this historic old building in Alviso. It was built in 1896 by the South Bay Yacht Club. Another historic grin, compliments of geocaching!
Whazzat? Is that a smiley face next to the cache?!?!
Sorta….more like a GEOGRIN!!
No worries, folks…the Beesies aren’t outta the picture. But sometimes it’s easier to carry a grin around in my pocket than a Beesie!
Said the OranGeo Beesie, “Oh I say! Have I just found my new vacation home?”
Said this geocacher, “No, Beesie…that’s the cache!”
Said the OranGeo Beesie, “This cache-a-day-in-May adventure is exhausting! Time for a rest!”
Said this geocacher, “Very well…have your sit-down, but not one the cache if you please!”
Yup. That’s a geocache!
The first thing you think of is geocaching whenever you hear “muggle” while watching Harry Potter movies.
- You always take a GPS, pen, batteries, trade items/trinkets everywhere you go
- You drive past an already discovered cache and say “Found that one!”
- You’re planning your vacation, you’re also creating your geocaching route
- You say “Ooo, that would be a great spot”
- You like finding out that someone you already know loves geocaching too
- You will climb any hill, tackle any obstacles, and walk infinite miles to reach a cache
- You have found every hidden cache in your town
- You know all geocaching terms
- You plan to or have found at least one cache in every state
- You find yourself getting up an hour earlier every morning to get a cache on your way to work!
